Almost every time the news has a report of some nut going postal on his workplace or neighbors, I turn to my wife and say the line that some eyewitness is going to use: “I don’t know, he was always pretty quiet. Winners

Winners store in Halifax, Nova Scotia

I wrote this before sundown yesterday so I wouldn’t have yet one more thing for which to atone. Given the rainy Sunday here in Connecticut, I spent the day watching a lot of sports. Then again, I send most sunny Sundays watching sports but it’s usually after I play golf. In any event, as I’m writing this, the Yankees have clinched another title, so have both Phil and Tiger, Jimmy Johnson, 4-time NASCAR champ has won yet another race, The Giants and Pats both won and all of that makes sense. They’re winners. Continue reading

Winemakers and Farmers

Wine grapes.

Farmers and winemakers have more in common than just planting things. They share a dependency on climate and as a businessperson I’m not sure I’d like to be so dependent on something so out of my control. But they also share another quality which I think we all should emulate in our daily lives, both business and personal. Continue reading
