Top Chef

A food post and it’s not Friday?  What happened?  Well, the Top Chef finale aired last night and of course I have a few thoughts.  Not just on the food either since there was something that stuck me about last night and, in fact, the entire season that is a great lesson for people in business.  It’s something I’ve noticed about younger people in general and since most of the competitors are under age 30 I’m hoping that it’s indicative of how this generation thinks. The Three F’s

I started to write a Thanksgiving post and for inspiration I went back and looked at what I wrote last year.  You know what?  Like the holiday we celebrate here in the USA today, what’s going on around here hasn’t changed much so I’m reposting the tome below.

To those of you who had a great 2009, give thanks.  To those of you who didn’t, give thanks it’s almost over and 2010 looks better.  Let’s all of us give thanks that we’re here to enjoy the holiday and the three F’s it represents.

I wrote a piece here in August about how hard it is for the home cook to duplicate the quality of the food in restaurants. At the time I ascribed that to the quality of the ingredients available to professionals vs. to what most of us have access.
