Answer Me!

We’ve talked a lot over the last couple of years in this space about companies and social media.  We’ve talked about how it’s not like printing a magazine ad or a TV commercial, meaning that those media are shot, edited, distributed and done.  Social media is a commitment; it requires support and maintenance.  You’ve been with me on that, right?

Apparently, we’re kind of alone out here kids, or at least I’m led to believe that based on some research I read the other day.  But maybe I’m overreacting – let’s see what you think. Continue reading

Danny Dunn

One book I remember vividly from my childhood was called Danny Dunn and the Homework Machine.  It was published in 1958 and I think I read it in middle school several years later (I’m not THAT old!).  The book is about a kid who finds what was an early computer (probably filled a room and didn’t have the processing power of one of today’s cell phones, I’m sure).  He uses the computer to do his homework but finds out that to do so he needs to program it.  In order to program it, he needs to understand the subject matter which, kids, is the point.  It’s also today’s business thought. Personal SEO

Ensure Website Visibility With Search Engine O...

You might have read or heard about Search Engine Optimization or SEO for short.  While it’s not the focus of my consulting practice, it is one of the areas in which I offer advice.  In a nutshell, it’s about getting found.  I mean, when one thinks about how much STUFF is out there on the interwebs, climbing to the top of the results pages people get when they search for various information is kind of important.  After all, when was the last time you made it to page 3  of the search results?

So that’s kind of the answer to why one might want to practice SEO.  But I think some basic SEO principles apply to you as an individual and not just to your digital life.  Let’s see if you’re with me. Continue reading
