Holding Steady

One of my sporting addictions is golf, as those of you who’ve visited here before well know. This past weekend, I was watching The Players Championship Tiger was having a not very good round on Saturday and yet moved from the top 20 into the top 5 and wound up playing in the last group on Sunday (for you non-golfers, the leaders go out last).  He was holding steady while all the golfers around him crumbled and, by doing so, advanced his cause. Sometimes things do work out well.  For me, a long-planned vacation is going to happen thanks to someone at Delta Air Lines. For you, this will be the last post on my airline miles!

The business lessons we can take away from the Missing Miles incident won’t go away and the fundamental one is something I’ve written about over and over: don’t confuse the technology with the business. In the case of Delta, their smart business skills overcame their not so smart use of technology. Continue reading

Thank you all for the encouraging mails and tweets yesterday after reading the post on my saga with Delta Air Lines. A few things happened yesterday and while the situation isn’t resolved, some progress was made.
