Check It Out

As usual we’re going to avoid politics today but I’m going to use a piece from a political site to make my point, if you don’t mind.
A political site picked up a story that a blogger did recently which was an analysis of presidential rumors on the site Snopes.com. the link is there for those of you that want to read the source material which reviews the number of rumors floating around on each president as well as the percentages of those proven to be true. The point isn’t the politics of this – it’s that someone took the time to find out. Continue reading

Service By Design

I’ve gone on at some length in this space about customer service and those companies that do it badly.  Today, I’d like to write about one that does it well and explain why I feel that way.  It’s nice to applaud rather than boo for a change!

I go on a golf trip each year.   I’ve also written about that band of brothers before but I don’t think I mentioned that one thing each guy brings is a gift for the others.  Generally these are relatively inexpensive – golf balls, pen knives – that sort of thing.  I think the biggest thing ever given to the rest of us was a cruise on the Inter-coastal Waterway one afternoon.  My contribution for the last few years has been a commemorative T-shirt of some sort.  I get them from a company named DesignAShirt and they’re the recipient of my applause today. Take Out

It’s Foodie Fun Friday and it’s late enough that I’m already thinking about dinner (been a busy day – sorry I’m late!!). We usually bring food in on Fridays. When the girls were living at home, it was usually pizza but since it’s just the Mrs. and me our horizons have broadened, along with our waistlines, considerably. We keep  a book of menus here and around now we start perusing them, complete with annotations of what we’ve brought in before and what we’ve liked. Which of course is a business lesson.
