This post may seem kind of familiar since I’ve written on this topic before. However, since businesses keep screwing up customer service, I’ll keep writing about it in the hopes that someone notices and asks themselves if they’re doing it correctly. If nothing else, it lets me vent and keeps my head from exploding!
Friday night was going to be a quiet night of a little take out and catching up on all the Netflix stuff we have sitting around. Yes, we still get the DVD‘s even though we do stream movies through the Xbox too. Strangely, the technology worked perfectly within our plan – it was the take out that killed us. Let me review. The Fast
We’ve made it to the end of another week and so a food-related topic for today. Actually, it’s more of a lack of food topic since I want to mention a thought I had about fasting and business.
Tomorrow is the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, a day on which every Jew is supposed to refrain from eating and drinking. That obligation is taken so seriously that one is considered to have participated fully in all the prayer services if they complete the fast even if they never set foot in the synagogue. Last month was Ramadan – a month in which Muslims fast from dawn until dusk. There are fasts in almost every major religion and the notion of willingly abstaining from food and drink as penance or for some other reason is yet another thing most religions have in common.
But penance is not what prompted the thought about business (a religion for some as well, I know). Continue reading

The Same But Not
As we head into Labor Day weekend, my thoughts turn to food (OK, so I could make that statement about the 364 other days too – got me…) and since it’s Friday I want to share something that’s rattling around in my head.
