Another tidbit from the Pew Internet and American Life Project. It’s not really that surprising but the biggest increase in internet use since 2005 is the 70-75 year-old age group. I love growth statistics. Start with a smallish base, increase the tiny base a small amount – voila! I was pleasantly surprised last evening to receive an email from a old friend. Attached to it was a photograph which you see off to the right.

No, it’s not the 4 Stooges although that would have been an appropriate moniker at the time. It’s the cast and crew of a film shot in the late 60’s called “The Treasure of Ralph Moneybags” and seeing this shot made me think about how in many ways the digital world we’re in has helped and hurt what is now getting to be two generations of kids.

We all tend to put things into little niches. It’s probably the only way our minds can keep track of all that is going on around us, and given that all THAT STUFF seems to be multiplying each day, the ability to categorize and file away meta data about people, companies, and other things is, in my opinion, key to being a highly-functional person today.
