It’s impossible to work in digital and not to write a bit about Steve Jobs this morning. I have a bit of a different take, as usual, and I want to put Steve in the middle of what’s going on with the demonstrations on Wall Street and elsewhere. You see, I think one of the big lessons Steve taught us is exactly at the root of what has pushed thousands of people into the streets and I’d love to know if you feel the same way.

Spam Buddies
Everyone has different kinds of friends. Work pals, sorority sisters, roommates, golf friends. Each plays a different role in our lives and some of the recent changes both in Facebook and Google+ reflect that – the notion of sharing different things with different audiences.
Lately I’ve found I have an entirely new class of friends: spam buddies, and today’s topic is a cross between venting and asking you all how we might combat this. I’m also of the opinion that it’s going to get worse based on the changes we’re seeing in Facebook, LinkedIn, and others. But let’s see what you think. Continue reading

Less Is More
I attended the local tech meet-up last evening and the topic was being lean. No, not how to lose weight unless you’re counting the weight of excessive costs. Or as it said in the event description:
Lean and Agile are two related approaches that use startup mentality and an iterative approach to deliver results and new possibilities. We’ll take an overview of Lean, its opportunities and pitfalls and some broad approaches to adopt Lean thinking for you and your organization.
