Dixie Chicken

“Tell me a story” is a phrase you hear a lot as a parent. When the kids don’t want to go right to bed, they’ll use it to stall. When they are feeling anxious, they’ll use it to gain some calming certainty. Stories predate written history and telling them is an art form. We all know a few great jokes (many of which aren’t for this space in my case…).  Told well, those can be great stories.  When you set a great story to music, you have a great song. Continue reading

Welcome to 2010!

Party Hat Cookies

Happy New Year!  To start us off, I read two reports over the holidays that I found interesting and which set the themes that I think will dominate media over the next year.  Of course they are about media habits and how this convergence thing is becoming more of a reality to more people.  Obviously it’s been here for quite some time but it’s just now becoming mainstream enough of a technology that “civilians” (non-digital media experts) don’t look at you cross-eyed when you start to discuss it. Posts of The Year – 4

This was probably the most fun post of them all this past year and it comes with an update. It was the story of a film four friends made in junior high which was somehow lost and found again.
