From the title, you might think I’ve published next week’s food post too early. Let me explain. I was supposed to hit the market the other day to buy myself something for dinner (the Mrs. was at the theater so I was just cooking for myself) but got caught up in work and had no time to go before my evening appointment. I rummaged around the refrigerator and assorted cabinets and found a bit of bacon, some raw, frozen shrimp, various veggies, and some white wine. How Many Doors In Your House?
I know very little about Feng Shui and I’m not sure how I ended up looking at this statement on a web page but as I found out:
In feng shui, the main door to your home is very important. A house with many doors can create chaos with too much chi energy entering and leaving the home. This can impact various areas of your life, including finances, health, career and especially your relationships.

The Mother Sauces You Need For Business
Friday again, so let’s talk about food. I was doing just that with a friend if mine the other day about Mother Sauces. In classical French cooking, these are the basic sauces upon which all other sauces are built.

Yes, he’s a trained chef and we were discussing the menu for the restaurant he is opening. I was telling him the acronym I use to remember them – it’s “Bring Elvis His TV” – Bechamel, Espagnole, Hollandaise, Tomato, and Veloute. Interesting, I know, but why is this appropriate in a space where we talk about business? Because it got me thinking about what the Mother “sauces” are for business folks – what are the basic traits one needs to posses and upon which all other skills are built?
