This post may seem kind of familiar since I’ve written on this topic before. However, since businesses keep screwing up customer service, I’ll keep writing about it in the hopes that someone notices and asks themselves if they’re doing it correctly. If nothing else, it lets me vent and keeps my head from exploding!
Friday night was going to be a quiet night of a little take out and catching up on all the Netflix stuff we have sitting around. Yes, we still get the DVD‘s even though we do stream movies through the Xbox too. Strangely, the technology worked perfectly within our plan – it was the take out that killed us. Let me  review. Live TV Losing Younger Adults

When I was in broadcast television for a living, we used to talk about the “lean back” vs. the “lean forward” experience.  The assumption that we made was that sports viewers in particular and TV couch potatoes in general were definitely of the former ilk.  TV was for relaxing and not something one did actively (other than flipping through the remote, of course).

That thought came to mind, and that it might be wrong, as I read the new study from Morpace about video usage.  It may especially be true among younger folks, which in general signals the trend.  But here’s the info and let’s think about it. Continue reading

There’s a thread zooming around the digital space this week about the web being dead. Wired magazine issued this proclamation a couple of days ago and much has been written about it over the last 48 hours.  The gist of the argument is that digital life is becoming less browser-centric as we move to mobile web, apps, peer-to-peer, and other means of interacting digitally.  Of course, as they admit in the article, they issued the same proclamation in 1997!
