I follow a lot of chefs on Twitter. I’m not sure why, exactly. Like many Twitter users, what they have to say is sometimes wonderful and enlightening; other times it’s just the stupid banter they exchange with their peers. There is the odd recipe link or photo to some food porn picture they’ve taken but one thing that seems to be a constant is they tweet about going out to eat.
You might find it odd that people who run kitchens and make food for a living would choose to spend their down-time on the other side of the pass-through but I don’t. In fact, I think it’s a great business point. Continue reading

Your Next Gig
So here’s a question for you. Does your next job exist? I don’t mean is there an opening someplace. I mean it literally – do you think the role itself exists? It’s not as simple a question as one might think. After all – the job I’m in now – consultant – has existed for a long time but one area of expertise in which I consult – digital media – has only been around for 15 years or so. Take A Pill
We’re a culture that likes to take pills. Not necessarily as some form of recreation but as a fix for what ails us. I dont know what your experience has been with healthcare but most of the doctors I’ve had over the years tend to want to prescribe you a drug rather than dig down into the causes of something and discuss nutrition and lifestyle changes as a fix.
