I drove home late last night (or early this morning – I’m never sure when one ends and the other begins) in sleet. The roads were really slick and you could see the ice pellets accumulating toward the side of the road where people hadn’t driven yet. Imagine yourself driving down the highway at 65 miles per hour. Now imagine doing so while looking only straight ahead through the windshield. No rear-view mirror, no use of your side mirrors, your side windows blacked out. Kind of scary and very dangerous, with a high likelihood that you won’t see something that could fatally disrupt your little drive. “But I wouldn’t do that,” you say. I know.
