We’ve talked a lot over the last couple of years in this space about companies and social media.  We’ve talked about how it’s not like printing a magazine ad or a TV commercial, meaning that those media are shot, edited, distributed and done.  Social media is a commitment; it requires support and maintenance.  You’ve been with me on that, right?

Apparently, we’re kind of alone out here kids, or at least I’m led to believe that based on some research I read the other day.  But maybe I’m overreacting – let’s see what you think. Continue reading

Overcoming Your Brand

I meant to write about a something I read a couple of weeks ago and of course I forgot about it.  Better late than never, hopefully.

The piece was a blog published by NPR about  readership of media outlet websites.  As it turns out, users are turning to websites belonging to cable TV news ahead of websites for newspapers.  I wasn’t really surprised but it raised a thought I’d like to share and about which I’d like to get your take. Weakened Warrior

Most of what shows up in our snail mail box is junk, bills, or magazines. However, once in a while something shows up which just compels me to share it. That happened the other day with the arrival of a “Rush Priority Express Letter.” It had to be important since it commanded the USPS to “Rush To Addressee” because it’s “Extremely Important.” Of course the colors of this missive are red, white and blue and there’s a picture of what appears to be an eagle (ornithology not a specialty here).
