I received a note from an old friend this morning. He caught me up on the changes in his life (wouldn’t it be nice if someone you knew over 50 had some stability?) and said he was prompted to reach out by this blog. Apparently he’s been reading me for a bit and felt as if he should acknowledge that. Of course he didn’t really need to but it goes without saying I’m glad he did. It also got me thinking about some of the reasons I do this. No, I’m not going to repeat this post on my reasons for blogging. But I do want to point out a couple of things that may help you to think through why you might want to give this a try or, if you’re currently writing a blog, areas of focus for your business blog. Top Posts of 2010 #2
This was the most read post this year although I think it has a lot more to do with the inclusion of an obscure Monty Python character – Mr. Creosote – than it does the subject matter – a study on how young people are spending their time with media.
I see him as a referring term in the analytics and I just know people are so upset when they get a rant on digital media and A.D.D. instead of a gross-out session. Then again, maybe what’s going on with peoples’ brains qualifies… Continue reading

10 Reasons Why I Blog
I get asked sometimes why I write this stuff 5 days a week. It’s probably a couple of thousand words and several hours’ time each week and I’m not going to lie and say it’s easy because sometimes it’s painfully hard. I do have my reasons, however, and I thought I’d share 10 of them with you today.
