All aspects of our society are consumed by speedy consumerism, that obviously has a negative knock on effect during the stage of creation. People want it fast we make it fast, and I agree with you completely we need considered creations not half arsed muck abouts. Journalism is a sector which is effected by this the most I think, instead of in-depth well researched stories we have glazed over reviews, then on to the next one, so we can consume, consume, consume-create, create, create. Nice article, good points, Thank you.

Keith:

"Think different" always bothered me because it does seem to be grammatically incorrect, but I concede that it might not be. As an Englishman I tend to be a bit protective over the English language, particularly it's use in America,

I trust you remember me, Trevor from TheHockeyRating.com. Regrettably I couldn't get any traction on the site and so I gave it up.

Evidently you are not with the NHL anymore and by all appearances flying solo. Good luck with that,

I too am enamoured by Apple, in particular the iPhone and iPad. I have been developing Geo-Location solutions for all the popular Smartphones.

In a past job, the majority of my co-workers & managers were firefighters, rushing around at all hours to solve the latest crisis...

In this case, firefighting was not a good thing - rather than prepare and prevent the issues from arising, they dealt with issues in a break-fix manner, and as a result, never got ahead. That company has been struggling for several years now. Enthusiasm is no replacement for good planning.

I like your analogy of the snowman - I just wonder if there is a better comparison for those who get it right. :)

From my perspective, the key change is that now brands can engage in a dialogue with their customers (and even non-customers). In addition, brands can provoke conversation, and then monitor these "outside" conversations to learn -- in real time -- what consumers are thinking and saying about their product, how they buy the product, how they consume the product and even what they wish from that product.

I work at Jimmy Johns - the bread is NOT vegan. But you can get a vegetarian sub as an unwich (wrapped in lettuce) without cheese or mayo, but be advised that all of the ingredients are prepared on the same cutting board, so it is possible that your veggies will have touched meat juice/mayo. The plain and reduced-fat chips are made with potatoes, peanut/sunflower oil, and sea salt as the only ingredients, so they are vegan. The salt & vinegar chips contain lactose (from milk). I'm not sure about the barbeque and jalapeno chips. The pickles are vegan; the cookies are not.
