Yesterday I went to Lamps Plus to see if they sold lights for paintings. "Oh yes, we have a few". They looked great in the store and the sales clerk assured me a human could easily install it. When I got home it had clearly been returned and restocked (my hot button). The parts bag was ripped open and it was missing the UV glass filter for the light, that wasn't supposed to necessary because the confident clerk promised it uses an "art quality" (??) lamp and "doesn't emit any UV". I plugged in the Chinese sourced halogen (tons of UV emitted from these babies) then noticed they require the customer to splice the Chinese sourced inline on/off switch to the power cord (good money saving idea - have Joe American messing with bare hot wires). I called the store to vent and was left on hold for 5 minutes so I just hung up all ticked off.
This was not what I needed on a Sunday afternoon of legal pad long honey-do's but we got the light working after all.
